Ye Olde Towne Torrance

On Wednesday, my friend Sarah and I decided to pay a visit to Old Town Torrance. Our first stop was grabbing lunch at Antigua Cafe, a Guatemalan restaurant that had Yelp reviewers raving about their Tapas. So, we asked for the Tapas trio special (3 for $12) and ordered the Barbeque Pulled Pork Tapa, Mediterranean Tapa, and Caprese Tapa. With the first bite, I was in food heaven. Those reviewers really knew what they were talking about. And, Antigua Cafe really knew what they were doing. Surprisingly, the Tapas were pretty filling and left just enough room for dessert.

After satisfying our Tapa craving, we made our way to the Torrance Bakery across the street. Although the bakery was well known for their cronuts, I wanted to try something new. I had always heard of bacon being incorporated into sweets via Food Network: Cupcake Wars that I decided to try their Maple Bacon cupcake. The bacon added a lovely touch of salty and savory that complemented the sweet maple frosting. Overall, it was an enjoyable treat that left me wanting more.
