Santa Monica Pier
Live band. Free music. Good Music. Need I say more? Recently, I had begun listening to OK Go after stumbling upon one of their music videos on Youtube “The Writing’s on the Wall“. And if you’ve ever watched any of their videos, once you finish one you know you can’t stop. So after an OK Go marathon (that went on for days), I texted Sharon telling her we needed to go see them live. That’s when Twilight Concerts came in. So, basically these series of concerts are hosted by Myspace (yeah, they’re still around) and are 100% free to the public.
Who said that you need money to have a great time? The concert turned out to be a blast. And even though he’s married, Damian Kulash will always have a place in my heart. I’m pretty sure his acoustic solo for “Last Leaf” created irregular palpitations for many girls (and boys). The best part was the show’s location. Just before the show, Sharon and I decided to do some shopping along the strip next to the pier. After finishing up, we grabbed some pizzas and made our way to the show, less than 10 minutes away.
If you couldn’t make it out to the 2014 Twilight Concerts, they’ll be coming back round next summer! Be sure to check their 2015 line-up!
